Real world factory 108 Eld-m ammo 6mm creedmoor fps

Steve from Exo Man Gear stated he was getting 2900+ out of a 16" 6 creed. Makes me wonder if hes running hot handholds or not. Anyone have any numbers close to this out of a 16" gun
He mentioned his load in one of the podcasts and I noted it down, haven't tried it in mine

108ELDM
Alfa Brass
Cci 450
H4350 42.4gr
2940fps

20” Seekins Slam M3:

2965” with Aly Munitions 109 ELDM (cull buck line)
2870” with (older lot) of factory 108 ELDM
2910” with Gunwerks 115 Berger
2820” with factory 108 Berger

Seems sus with a 16" barrel unless he's high elevation?
Serious question…..

What does altitude have to do with muzzle velocity?

Completely understand effects on downrange drop….but not sure I’m tracking effect at the muzzle. What am I missing?

Nothing, I guess. I looked it up and you're right.

It's just air temperature that affects muzzle velocity and then DA affects the drops.

Appreciate it. I was freaking out. I shoot at 9500 feet for zero and normal target stuff behind my cabin. But flying to TN to hunt at 500’ in a few weeks.

I was thinking “dang if I didn’t know about this I’m screwed!”

If I could get up around 2900 out a 16 I’d be happy

I was hoping for the same, but unfortunately was a bit slower. I think the factory box says “2950fps” out of a 24” barrel, so with the general 25-30fps lost for every inch, I’d think you’d probably be around 2700fps at 16” with factory stuff.

Hand loads at “normal” pressures are around the same velocity in my barrel:
109eldm
Peterson brass
Cci 450
39.5gr of 4350

Tried to push it a bit harder but got some heavy bolt lift. Shoots good groups so left it alone.

I got just over 2700 on the 108s and 2800 on the 103s on an 18 inch. Its not full broke in yet though.

I thought he said it was an 18” barrel??? Cause in my mind 16” and 2900 is almost unrealistic. 18” is still borderline crazy but has a fighting chance to be attainable.

2585fps 16.25” pbb black hills gold 108 eldm. Reloaded I got 2840. With 95 tmk I’m around 2960 at 42 grains h4350playing around that with .5 up and .5 down. 43 grains I broke 3000 but my gain per half grain was much lower than last 4 step ups, don’t think I was burning all the powder

He's running pretty spicy handloads with Alpha brass. I'm just over 2900 with factory 108 ELDM ammo in my 18". 2975 with handloads and 108 Berger EH that are pretty hot. He's a full grain over what I can run in my rifle.

You must have a quick barrel. My tikka 22” barrel with factory is hitting 2850. So I guess my slow tikka barrel has skewed by view on what speeds can and should be achieved.

Im interested to get some more input and thoughts on that handload listed above. Dangerously hot? And has anyone ran something similar?
Depends on the gun, powder lot, etc but yeah it’s higher than I’d load. Dangerous? Probably in danger of popping a primer and having tough bolt lift at least, less so getting seriously hurt.
