Dvor has the LHT for $780 for another day and a half if anybody is still looking for it.

Ordered my LHT this week from Liberty Optics. About 4 weeks wait to get it. I called Scott to get a good price.

I ordered a LHT from Liberty some time back. Mounted it on a 300 and its doing fine. Have several other Vortex scopes including a couple of AMG's. Pretty darn good scopes.

Ordered a second LHT from Liberty. Been 3 weeks now. Sent an email after a couple of weeks asking for an expected ship date or an update, crickets. Waited 4 days, sent it again, crickets.

Did you try calling? I emailed and didn't hear anything. The next day I called Scott. He told me he has been very busy lately. He has responded to all my calls and texts.

I know this is an old thread, but for anyone following that has experience with both of these...

LHT 3-15x42
V4 4-16x44

I can get the LHT for about $200 less than the V4... which would y'all choose?

How much use do you put in scopes, and how much does zero retention matter to you?

Zero retention 100% the most important. Why else have one? This would be on a light weight build, just to hunt with

Then neither of them. Both will have a shift in zero with relatively light side impacts. To see what I am speaking about, the Long Range section at the top has a sub forum dealing with it.

And FWIW, welcome @dstrong1986!

Don't be perturbed by Form's post above; he's speaking from experience, and just wants to point you in the right direction.

For a lightweight build for hunting, you'll probably find that most of us here run the SWFA 3-9.

But do check out the scope testing thread Form pointed to, hang around, and ask questions.

(And maybe beware of Vortex and Leupold fans who haven't drop-tested their scopes. :))

I'm not a Vortex fan and I don't own an LHT,
however I wouldn't take the drop testing too seriously in terms of tracking and holding zero.
I won't even go into the issues with said test but I'll say this, don't frigging drop your rifle in the woods..
And if you do then check your zero afterwards, there are many parts that could lead to zero shift after a good drop, and I wouldn't count on everything being OK with any scope.

That said I'd check out the Trijicon Tenmile/ Credo, or The Bushnell LRHS2

Interesting advice ... how do you know those scopes are good at retaining zero?

thanks for the welcome and info. looking to go up to the 16/18 power range... I have a Lecia ER5 2-10 on it now, nothing but good things to say about it, just want a little more zoom.
