Hey guys, I'm in the market for a new rangefinder. I have done many hours of research and I am very impressed with the specs, performance, and especially the warranty of the Astra Optix OTX1600 model. By any chance does anybody have any experience with Astra Optix? I have no need for anything fancy my scope does most of that. I simply want clear glass, illuminated reticle, easy to use, and accuracy.

A minute late and a dollar short here sorry. Did you end up getting this range finder? I’m in the market for a farther reaching unit and am looking at their 2800 model. Very little information is out there about this brand but I’m putting trust into their great marketing and warranty. First time getting into long range shooting so I wanted a unit that can at least get me to 1000ish yards and not make destroy my bank because my wife will kill me!

I've never handled (or heard) of the Astra models. I had a Nikon Aculon and upgraded to a Vortex Razor 4000. Huge upgrade in quality of glass and accuracy. I've also used the Sig Kilo 2200 rangefinder and they seem to be pretty good too and may be more in your price range.

Well I did receive my Astra and it’s excellent. Ranged the water tower out behind my house and it came back 1656 1657 1656 so it can for sure go long and is consistent. Very simple to use nice clear glass. The red illuminated reticle is awesome! Makes it very easy to see. And the lifetime warranty is a deal sealer. I can’t imagine finding a better product for $199 I highly recommend.

That’s good to know thank you. I was looking at the 2400 model but if you are getting readings out past 1600 I’d say that’s plenty of range for me! And for $200 you can’t beat it.

Ok I ordered the Astra OTX1600 last night and Amazon delivered it this morning. Crazy right? This thing is AWESOME. Super light and feels great in the hand. Optical clarity is pretty dang good and the features it packs is incredible. This one actually came with a feature I only though the top model had. In gun mode it will show you the line of side distance, then based on ballistic tables you choose from will show you the MOA or MIL adjustment you need, AND it’ll show you the angle compensated distance! That’s a huge bang for the buck for $200! Can’t wait to test it more.
