Rangefinder pouch that opens forward?

Really love the forward opening bino harnesses such as Marsupial/Kuiu etc, looking for a rangefinder pouch to go with my Kuiu Pro harness. I had the Marsupial but the forward opening lid did not stick to the front of the pouch like the bino harness, and consequently usually flopped around out in front and often laid back over the top of the rangefinder, making one hand operation not all that different than the rearward opening FHF I currently have. Is the Marsupial supposed to have a magnet that secures it forward? Mine may have been defective, but I haven't been able to find a definitive answer. Any other options out there? Don't see where the ADAK is available separate from the harness, looking for something like that.

My marsupial ranger finder pouch is magnetic just like the bino harness. I’d contact them about getting a new one. They have great customer service, I’m sure they’d send you a new one.

My marsupial rangefinder case opens forward and has a magnet to keep it in place.
Recently added their short tether for my leica crf2400. Love it.

I moved on from the Marsupial because of the magnets affecting my compass in my phone, but the rangefinder pouch ones are much smaller I assume. I've since sold it all, but like I said my RF pouch would not stay open. May try another.

I have a marsupial rangefinder pouch. It seems to me like the magnet to secure it open is placed a little bit too low on the pouch. In order to get it to stick open I have to pull the flap down pretty hard when opening it and basically slap the flap downward. Once I started doing that I could get it to stick open every time. It's a bit annoying but works well enough that I'm satisfied.

Not specific to your question, but may help your searching for a good rangefinder pouch.

I too have the Kuiu pro harness. I looked for a pouch that not only could be one handed operation- but one that didn't pinch my rangefinder making it a very difficult one handed operation, especially to put it back in the pouch.

Adak system would have been golden but the one off of camofire I purchased is a little snug for my bino (SLC 10x42) and is very snug for my rangefinder (leupy 1200rx tbr).

All other pouches are very tight fitting until I went to the AGC pouch. Although it is rear folding when i am archery hunting I actually just leave it folded back (may be buying a second pouch and actually just removing the lid). The lid folds back and stays folded back. I hunted with it last deer season and this winters pig hunts I went on and it works very well. The pouch is loose fitting and my RF fits very well in and out.

May have to check that out, my Sig Kilo 2200 is a tight fit in the FHF, I have to pull it out by the tether.

AGC tighter because of the way the lid is cupped you have to clear the front lip. I suppose you could fold it inside out and it leaves more of the rangefinder to grab.

Thanks for the pics, I do think I'd like the AGC for stand hunting where I could open it an stuff the lid behind it while stationary, I'll have to play with it thought to see which I'd like better for when I'm on the move.

Exaxtly SND- i fold mine inside out behind the top. It has zero restriction when pulling my RF out. But this is specific for my leupy 1200, I have no idea how it will fare with the Sig or others.

To be frank it had never occured to me to fold inside out, that's why I put the FHF one on my main harness. If you were to leave it open and inside out, I do see now that it's easier. If you just unhook and open, it's harder because of the structured lid.

Exactly SD. The pouch is very deep and my RF sits all the way down: so even hiking, bush waking, crawling and bending over my RF doesn’t fall out. Going to consider buying a second one and just removing the lid for some of my archery only hunts where I need quick easy access where unfolding the lid and fiddling around is time needed to make a kill. (Speaking more specifically for still hunting)

I have used a badlands, rangefinder pouch, don't know if they still make them. but it served my purpose, one must be careful with magnetic opening, flaps that they are not noisy if they self close with a thud. I sold my badlands bino case for that reason.

Sorry to bring back such an old thread but any follow up after using these pouches? Or any other recommendations since? Looking for easy and quiet one hand operation led to me to look for a forward opening pouch but there seems to be so few options out there...

I'm still on the hunt for the perfect one, but here are the best two options I've found, non-magnetic:

1 - Muley Freak traverse pouch. Its really just a zipper pouch, but my RF fits inside snugly with 5 rounds of 280AI in the ammo holders which I've found to be nice too. If stationary I just leave it open and have the RF sitting in it with the rear of it sticking out which makes it easier to grab.

2 - FHF 2.0 pouch - its not forward opening, but, you can open it and tuck the flap behind the RF and then just take it in and out as you please.

If magnets are ok with you, the Outdoor Vision RF holder is great. Forward opening and the magnet holds it open, and it leaves a chunk exposed for you to grab. This is a plus for my use, but if you are in a high dust/moisture environment it is not completely enclosed when closed.
