Nikon Riflehunter. Been using mine for 8 years and it's never let me down.

I had a Leupold Full-Draw, but after I had some issues with it and they told me to get bent, I bought a Vortex and it's beefier, easier to use and that warrantee...

Sig Kilo 2000 is the best range finder I have tried and I have had a lot of them. Just my .02 worth.

If you're on a realistic budget (which a lot of people tend to forget....) of under $200 (PLENTY for a bowhunting range fine) I can highly recommend the $150ish Bushnell bowhunter.
Out to 100yds, it's utterly spot on & gives angle correction. It's also very quick to range.

Sold my bushnell elite 1mile for the Sig Kilo 2000 got mine for 390$ off eBay, love it, ranged some rock out cropping yesterday out to 1580 yards

It is red, but the brightness is adjustable. I also like that it has a battery indicator. On the Leica I would just change the battery out every season because I never wanted to take a chance of it crapping out in the middle of a hunt.

I finally had some time to check out this rangefinder and compared is side by side against Leopold 1200i TBR/W, Vortex 1000 and Lecia 1000. For my colorblind eyes the rankings in display visibility were:

1) Leupold
2) Vortex
3) Sig
4) Leica

I was ranging outside of the store during a very bright day against challenging backgrounds from trees to light and bright green tile roofs. None of the displays were easy for me to see but the Sig and Leica displays were nearly impossible to see and simply wouldn't work. The sales guy said he could see all the displays easily against all backgrounds.

For me nothing else matters if I can't see the display so I went with the Leupold. I would've preferred the Leica or Sig but performance makes not difference without being able to see the display. In Nevada against sage brush and in other areas with bright sunlight and green backgrounds (The NWT on a Dall Sheep hunt) I've had issues seeing OLED displays and plan to put the Leupold through some further tests later today at home in sagebrush land. This Leupold seems easier to see than the last one I bought and sold in 2010 but time will tell.

Sold my bushnell elite 1 mile and bought sig k2000 and so happy I did, I got mine for 390$ off eBay brand new, so far ranged vehicles at 1600 meters in bright no clouds, sunny conditions. Angle comp works great and fits perfect in the front pouch of my AGC Bino harness

I have the Sig Kilo 2000 and have been very impressed with it so far. It will definitely range to 1500 and beyond, and it's incredibly fast. I picked mine up for around $400 from Savinglots.com. It's a great unit for the price but may be more than the OP wants/needs.

The auto dimming and brighting feature... Is the single best thing in a range finder for bow hunting since sliced bread.

Loved my vortex but forgot to dim it before an evening hunt, being blinded for a few seconds cost me a good buck. Nothing worse waiting for your eyes to adjust while at full draw.... Once they adjust and all you have is the back side of a 180 Mulie walking away.
