Random question II- Windshield scraper

I worked at a Ford dealer after school in highschool cleaning cars and sweeping floors. One day we had to bring a bunch of cars in to thaw them out and do a light clean up in January. We started them all and left them on defrost, being a kid and thinking I was smart I grabbed my scraper from my car to speed the process up, but was promptly stopped by the owner, lol. Absolutely nothing was to touch those windshields besides a squeegee, a rag, or newspaper.
