Rain jacket

The cut is a bit weird but my Outdoor Research Foray jacket has been great. Packs down super small and has full length zips from the pits to the waist, essentially making a poncho if you want.

Been using the OR Foray for 3 seasons now and happy with it. Started to wet out this last year so I ran it through tech wash and hit it with the waterproofing spray. It has been surprisingly durable, worked well for high mountain thunderstorms as well as a couple day soaker up in Alberta. But mostly lives in my pack or gets worn as a windbreaker. Mine weighs 14 oz in large and is a nice coyote brown color, got it probably 50% off as well

My go to all the time in the pack is OR helium rain jacket, I’ve had it 5 years and it’s starting to wet out easier try to tech wash this year and get one last season. Wife uses the foray which is a bit more durable but still a light jacket.

If I know it’s going to be a wet day I bring the chugach, these are Montana terms not Alaska. I did use the chugach in SE Alaska it did good but it was a rather dry week compared to normal. Heavier rain and I would just wear grundens
