Yall there is a young fella here local who just turned 20 found out hes got hodgkins lymphoma. Locals are doing things to help raise money for the family like shirts and wrist bracelets. I've conjured hard on how could help and reach a broad amount of folks thst woukd benefit everyone ive come up with donating half if my personal beef.

I'm really back and forth with what I should price tickets at. Another farmer friend has also chipped in half of his beef and I've gone around and got several gift certificates and such and havent gotten where all I want due to us chopping corn now.

In stuck between 50$ ticket and try to sell 400 or go 20$ a ticket and 3 for 50$ and sell as many as I can.

Do yall have any advice or ideas that I can also add in to this to help the family. They are great and that boy is a heck of a kid. Here is my Initial post on fb

Most people will throw a twenty at a good cause even if they don't care about the raffle prize. I'd think you sell more at 20$ than 50$ but I'm not a big raffle guy myself

I think $20 is an easier sell, and I love a good raffle.
P.s. I had Hodgkin’s as well. Doctors now days are good at what they do. As long as they caught it early enough it will be tough, but should be coming out the backside brand new. Good luck

I do lots of raffles for people. $20 a pop is easy for most people. $50 makes them think a little more about it

Being young will likely make it easier on him. I was 30 the first time and I’m sure it was a factor in recovery versus someone who is older.

I'm going to be honest. About 3 years ago most of the benefits around here switch to $100 tickets but only selling 200-250 tickets. 1st prize is big $10,000 or a side by side, whatever you want to do. 2nd name drew is your 1/2 beef. It seems like a lot of money but I split a ticket with a friend and a chance to win $10,000 is a years changer.
The 1st raffle around here sold out in a week. They drew the winner on black Friday right before Christmas because who doesn't need money at Christmas.
The last raffle was a local working man who was killed in a farm accident, they found out 3 weeks before the accident he was going to be a dad for the 1st time. They gave a used Harley away and a bunch of other small prizes, sold all 500 tickets in weeks

Do you homework check with state and local laws. here in Minnesota there are plenty. The Last thing you want to do is pay a fine or worse.
