How does this compare to what history had, what was that, Alone?

Better watching the team aspect? Guess it's less of a mental game versus surviving yourself.

Assuming it's an actual survival show instead of recreating whatever they had before called survival island or something, never got into that.

I liked watching people shelter building, then accidentally burning them down.

I watched the first one. I liked the Alaska version and this one looks just as good so far.
I didn’t realize there was a first season. Thanks for the tip. I changed the subject line and am watching AK first.

My wife and I think it’s a combination of Alone and Amazing Race.

Good point. Being solo would be harder. But some of the team dynamics may suck compared to being alone. In AK there are some bad a$$ teams.

It looks like legit suck.

That seems to happen a lot on Alone.
It has been pretty good so far. I am pulling for the hunters.
Me too

more like the adventure races they used to show. Requires navigation and other outdoor skills but not really any "survival" unless something goes horribly wrong. I enjoy it. I used to really like the adventure racing. This show like the adventure racing shows how much is mastering the mental side of things. Stay strong mentally and you can overcome. I think true survival situations are similar in that aspect

They are somewhat constrained on equipment and food. I can’t help but think of Alone (I believe on History Channel) and how they were allowed to bring (I think) 10 items and not allowed certain things. I know they can’t bring a tent, but I’ve not seen the same rules/lists so far

I've been enjoying alone, just for the lack of manufactured bs -challenges and the like. Watching how folks deal with stuff on their own is good viewing, and between weather and food things can get spicy enough.

Season 1 - the dad from GA is a bit of a control freak. But he's an "adventure racer". Wonder if he could take some paracord and make a shelter?
