Quietest arrow rest

Does anyone know of a youtube, article or study of any type that someone has done on the quietest drop away arrow rest? I'm currently shooting the Hamskea Epsilon out of my RX9 and it just seems loud to me, I love the rest, it just seems loud.

Most likely a timing issue, and I’m guessing your cord is tied off very close to the limb tip.

The quietest limb driven I have ever used is the GI8X from Vapor Trail. Next in line would be the QAD MX2.

But if you slide the cord further away from the limb tip, your Epsilon will get quieter. I have the Epsilon V2 on my Lift X, and properly timed, it’s very close in sound to the GI8X.

Would you suggest a happy medium of the center of the limb? The way I understand how they work is the closer to the limb tip the longer the rest supports the arrow?

The center of the limb may not achieve enough arrow support. Ideally, the rest should support the arrow for between 50 and 70% of the power stroke. If you have a draw board, you would put an arrow on the rest with the launcher arm all the way up when the bow is at brace. So you would need to have the rest not tied to the cable. Mark the arrow where it sits on the rest. Draw the bow to full draw and mark the arrow where it sits on the rest. If you don’t have a draw board explain what you’re doing to someone and have them mark the arrow when you reach full draw.

To time the rest for optimum arrow support, the launcher should be up for 50 -70% of the space between the two marks you made.

If you move the cord up and down the limb, you’ll need to adjust the tension on it to ensure your rest is all the down at brace, and not too tight.

And yes, the closer to the limb tip the more support. But the limb tip moves faster than the rest of the limb, which is what causes more noise from a limb driven rest - the rest is being pulled with more speed and reaching its stops with more force.
