I'm looking for any input on a thumb release that is quiet and not too "clicky" upon release. I've tried a couple different Scott releases and they are very loud IMO. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.

I have a truball fang 3 that is much quieter than the ones you are referring to. The trade off is that it is not as "crisp" of a trigger as the "clicky" type. I still hunt with a Scott exxus or Stan sx because I like the trigger better. I don't know if the noise is a problem or not, but if it is, I haven't noticed it.

What's wrong with the Exxus?

The exxus is a crisp as hell break but when it goes off the spring in the thumb trigger has a loud click and spring twang sound. Maybe I was doing something wrong as I'm by no means an expert with a thumb trigger.

I don't know how loud the release is that you have, but i had a Tru Ball 360 and another Tru Ball (forgot which one), that seemed loud, i guess being next to your ear makes it seem louder too.

I put a calf castrating band on the reset button, which dramatically dampened the sound. A rubber band would do similar i think.

I have the carter whisper, it is really quite.

I just picked up a vapor, it's definitely different from anything I've shot before but I guess time will tell if I can get used to it.
