Quick load short barrel 6CM

You all seemed to be right - and I pleasantly surprised! H4350 with 108eldm, 16” CM ladder from 37gr to 41.5gr in .5 increments went from 2621fps to 3862fps - no serious pressure signs at 41.5. Increased bolt lift at 40grains and the primer edges get somewhat flattened (these cci ones seem to do that more easily I think) the whole 10 shot ladder grouped quite well at 100y I thought too. I will probably back off that 41.5 for my load though.





Meanwhile a pressure ladder with N150 and the same bullet/case/primer, seating depth, etc started at 2425fps and was showing pretty flat primers by 2636fps.

In all of the specialty pistols I’ve loaded for, I’ve generally found that the powders that tend to perform in rifle length barrels also tend to perform best in pistols length barrels.
