Hey guys,
I just purchased a pair of Swarovski 8x32 EL WB Swarobright binoculars from Euro Optic. They were advertised as newer demo Swarovision’s for $1340. I jumped on them after being reassured that they were SV’s. However when they just showed up, they are a pair of 2009 EL WB’s in a ‘Factory Sample’ box.
They are in new packaging with every sealed accessory and a blank warranty card. The binoculars look brand new.
I’m conflicted, send them back as you can normally find Swarobrights for around 1,000-1,100, or keep an effectively brand new pair of Swaros for only $1340?

I would contact Euro Optic about what you found. My EL SV demos were that price range. It’s definitely not the deal you wanted. I would think about returning or some fair credit from the vendor.

Yeah that’s sound advice. I’d keep them for the right price if they offered a credit, however I think they will go back if that’s not an option.

Called Euro Optic and spoke with their Customer Service guy, Ari. I explained the situation. He was super helpful and was willing to refund $200, just enough to have a small profit on his side, but not much.
The binos are beautiful and they are literally like brand new, just a bit older. New Swaro’s for $1100 is not bad, I’m stoked.

Tough one but still the WB is no slouch, if you are happy with the resolution with europtic I’d keep them. That’s a classic that is still better then most produced today.

I was prepared to suggest that you to send them back and hold out for SVs. But then I noticed your last posting, and for $1100 ya done good.
That said, the pop of Swarovision glass is amazing.

I like to be a minimalist as much as possible in my life. ie. only one item that does its job effectively or making one decision that will keep me from having to make multiple decisions in the future.
As I already have these great bino's in hand, It will keep me from spending multiple hours and mental energy this next year before August searching for a better deal and obsessing over the issue.
I'm sure that since they are practically new, I wont really lose money on them if I was to find a pair of great SV's later on. I have not tried any Flat Field lenses myself in the field to experience the Roller Ball effect, but I am often panning while glassing, so that is a potential issue that I could encounter if I went for the SV's.
