Question re Tikka t3x Roughtech Ranch 16" barrel

New member here, I have been looking into one of these in a 308 to shoot with a Jolene S that I have on the way. I appreciate all the info in this thread:

Damn dude, that looks GOOD. Perfectly balanced... I may have to buy a .223. Thanks man! It's a sweet little set up. I installed a vertical grip and mountain tactical bottom metal since I took the pic. Groups seemed to open up a hair but it could have just been me. Factory eldm 73 grain did...

The rifles pictured in that thread have spiral fluted bolts and fluted barrels, just like the one in the Tikka promo video on YouTube that came out last September. The few listings that still show the original configuration may be using stock photos (I have messaged one to confirm, no response yet).

I'd rather have one in the fluted configuration if possible - does anyone know if they are still available? Would also be interested to know when and why the switch was made.

Following this thread, I am also looking for a short barrel 308 suppressor host. I am also looking at the Winchester XPR Stealth SR, the price difference would go a long towards the suppressor!

I did not get any responses from the Gunbroker sellers messaged. Will likely purchase from Eurooptic. Description states barrel is fluted though difficult to tell from picture. Will report back upon receipt/range testing.

I recently bought a roughtech ranch ember 16" barrel .308 from Europtic. Bolt is spiral fluted and the barrel is straight fluted. So far the gun has been great, shooting just under 3/4 moa with HOP ammo using cheap bags and a non pro trigger finger. With a little more practice I think it will consistently do 1/2" with factory ammo.

Thanks - that's great to know. I went ahead and ordered the blued/black roughtech ranch model from eurooptic, should have it this weekend. Not expecting this bolt to be fluted, but website stated that the barrel is, will report the results once I have it. Let's hope it shoots as well as yours!
