Question about bear and .357

That sounds almost exactly like the 35 Remington. A 200gr flat nose leaving the barrel at 2100. I’ve got one in a marlin 336 that has killed many a bear and deer. If you got a 357mag doing the same thing I’d have zero hesitation to use it.
 
In short, the answer is yes. Keep the distance reasonable, make a good shot, and you will be fine.
