I am tired of rounding off bits on torx and other bits while working on guns. I've got Fix-it-sticks bits, HF bits, amazon el cheapo bits, SNAP-ON bits, etc.

of them either breaks or rounds off.
Anyone have a source of quality, heat treated, metal bits for gun smithing use?
Thanks,
Doc

I have no personal recommendations (except my Wiha allen wrenches have been outstanding), but ProjectFarm has been very informative for other purchases I've made. All his vids are basically the same, several well designed tests with "scores" for each and at the end of the vid there is a summary and his "picks". Good luck

McMaster Carr usually has stuff that is not junk.

Also, I bought a Walter torque wrench and associated bits for changing indexable carbide tooling inserts. Those Walter tools work really well on firearms.

I have found Irwin bits last better in my impact drivers for work, if you can bust these by hand you would have to be doing something strange.

Bought my first set of hand Torx drivers (early '90s) from Wiha. Now have a broad assortment of their Torque Vario stuff along with various others. Zero regrets.
