I’m a Polaris guy, like I’m a ford guy or a Cummins guy. Nothing wrong with Chevy or toyota. Just my preference.
I have two Polaris’. An older 500 ho and a new 570 sportsman with power steering and engine braking. Only bc the gf surprised me with it and I felt bad telling her I wanted the 1000, not cause I need it, but why not.
Anyhow, I absolutely love the ride and stability of the irs. It’s a utility quad not a racer. I have zero problems on our land pulling small utility trailers, loading her up behind me, both or even 2 others to go from the house to the barn. I will admit there’s more moving parts, which means more things to maintain, but the little extra possible maintenance is worth it when it comes to ride quality and mostly stability. The Honda with the smaller motor and sra is absolutely bombproof. I mean they make some durable atvs for sure. But they are the price of a loaded out Polaris or can am. Neither one of my Polaris’ have left me stranded. I’ve removed the rear sway bar from both of them, not really needed where I go and the speeds I go at. I would suggest more than anything though, if you’re going deep solo, get a winch, for sure. And get the required straps and unstick tools and or equipment. I’m a strong dude, but I’m not lifting my quad out of the sticky.
