Q&A for Swarovski Z5i + 3.5-18x50mm

Very curious if Kahles has the same issues. Obviously a sister company but with the tac-mil design intent. I wonder if they at least tried to make them more durable.
When these came out, someone on here was bragging how these had Kahles internals rather than the plastic internals of the regular Z3 and Z5. lol

I've been through 2 K318i.
1st scope was leaning in the corner of the wall tent and tipped over, the internals completely came apart you couldn't see through the scope...

2nd scope I got on warranty, I had it in a padded gun case with a bunch of clothing underneath and on top of it in my jet boat gun drawer, the illumination knob came off and the gun was out more than 12"

it now sits on my 17hmr grouse gun....

will say I switched to the 4-16x42 ATACR and that scope stayed zeroed after a 7hr jetboat ride into the mountains, 10 days of sheep hunting, 7 hour jetboat ride back to the truck not even in a case just stuffed into my gun drawer in the boat, then 16hr drive in the truck, hike up another set of mountains and shot a mountain goat.

It's okay.

Lots of folks on this site raved about the awesomeness and reliability of the Vortex Razor LHT with a full hunting season under its belt. Then the scope was drop tested...

But kudos to Swarovski for not going into this endeavor blindly; hopefully they'll make the required changes.

Lost zero on my K312i last season when the objective knocked against a lift gate riding around the ranch. Thankfully didn't have any issues when I went to South Africa with it, but swapping to a 4-16 ATACR now. Just wish it had a better reticle but oh well.

Kahles tend to track very accurately. Durability reports are less stellar.

some goofball drops a scope a bunch and calls it a "test" and blind idiots follow along. thats literally all this nonsense is. its at least funny... on a few levels.

Name calling is cause for being given the boot. If you have a different opinion, present it in a cogent manner. If you can't do that, I seriously doubt anyone here will have an ounce of respect for your bad mouthing.
