I've tried to do some research looking for info on just doe tag numbers, but can't find anything. If the total number of non res any antelope tags are lets just say 100, how many are dedicated to just does? Or does it work like that?

It should be pretty obvious whether the tags are for bucks, does, or either. I can't imagine it's not specified in the regulations.

Listing a state would probably help...

Sorry about the lack of info, wrote the post on a mobile.

Wyoming is the state. I looked at last years draw records and it states Any Antelope, but didn’t give a break down of how many doe/anterless tags were given out of those total tags per unit.

Why does it matter? Because I want to get out there and put boots on the ground and figured draw odds for a doe would better than trying to draw for a buck, while not having to burn my points during this first possible hunting trip.

I'm betting odds are worse for doe tags, cuts have made them hard to draw.

And yes some areas are recovering but not to historic levels.
We really do need moisture.

You just need to look at the NR doe odds on the WY website. Doe are totally random so there are no points. Like others have said they’ve become harder to draw than buck tags in some areas.

The last three days I've been looking at everything as I have a good number of points, and can draw some good units. Also looking at other options. WY has changed so much the last couple years its almost absurd.

To be up front, all the photos we used to post, the info we openly shared, posting unit numbers back in the day has finally caught up with us. What we used to enjoy is still there, just at a lesser frequency.

As far as does in WY, I wish they wouldn't offer a single tag state wide for 5 years.

The advice that the best first western hunt is a doe pronghorn tag in Wyoming was true in 2016 but it is not in 2026.

Doe tags are statistically hard to pull now that buck tags in many areas. At this point they shouldn’t be issuing pronghorn doe tags period with the statewide population down 50%+ over the last 10-15 years.

You don’t need a scouting trip for pronghorn, you just need a halfway decent buck tag. Harvest rates are 80%+. You will usually get multiple stalks per day.
