Puffy pants for glassing

Kifaru pants look bomber but they weigh as much as my nunatak puffy pants and hooded jacket (both with 3.6 apex insulation) combined. One of the great things about apex is if you tear a shell, you dont lose insulation and a little repair tape makes it all better.

I liked the idea of it thinking it would be quick an easy. But it really didn't keep me any warmer, leg, feet or body. Seemed like I was always fighting it to keep the drafts at bay. Then if you have to move it starts the process all over again. I rather just use the pants, down or the Kifaru puffy pants when it really cold and use them inside the bag quilt too.
I have used the kifaru doobie instead of puffy pants and I did enjoy having it go over my feet however I found that it takes up a ton of room in the pack and as Ryan says every time you move any heat you have is gone. Since buying the lost park pants I would never go back plus I felt my feet stayed warmer because the rest of my body was warm I’m guessing
