What puffy pants do you have, how low have you taken them, and how was your experience?

I took the first light uncompahgre down below 20, with foray pants on top and am left searching for something more. Use cases in mind are static sits and emergency storm layer around CO/WY.

(Considering WM flight pants but the FF volant are cheaper and warmer for an extra 5oz… FF helios is out of stock in my size)

I’ve used the first lite uncompaghre, mountain hardwear and now Patagonia MARs. The Patagonia MARs are my favorite and they have also been the cheapest.

I use my puffy pants for glassing during the late season mainly, sometimes as a layer for overnight trips in the winter.

There is cheapo Amazon ones that work OK....for lighter weight option the mtn hardware ones are pretty good. Have not used black ovis pants but the down jacket in the same line is pretty good

Kuiu Super Down Pant. I have used them to around 10 degrees and they worked for me.

Where did you source your MARS/Lost Arrow gear?

eBay. I bought them pretty cheap and they are basically new.
Thanks! I've been on the hunt for a pair of the Patagonia Lost Arrow (maybe MARS?) Micropuff pants as well. Glad to hear they work as described!

If you don't mind me asking, did you have to size up to accommodate layers underneath?

Kuiu kenai pants, both generations. I think the current generation is warmer and not just because they aren’t short. 15 to 20° mixed static and mild movement. 10° while moving. Feels warmer of if I wear a base under them without normal pants. For a wind/rain over the top I’m using Black Diamond pants, nothing high end just your average rain pants.

Fyi, lost arrow project rebranded to forgeline solutions.

So this is my first year using puffy pants. I bought the stone glacier Grumman’s. I wear first lite kiln long John’s, then my puffy pants, then my stone glacier m7 pants. I’ve never been more comfortable hunting. I’ve sat in a tree stand down to about 15 degrees and windy and was perfectly comfortable. For the walks I can just open the hip vents and dump all the excess heat. This system has given me every bit of warmth that my old bibs did, but at 1/2 the weight and 1/4 of the bulk. Super happy so far
