I have been charged before but they are not hard to evade- they can't turn very good at all so you literally only have to side step. The first time was a bit unnerving I have to admit.

I was charge twice by javelina, which are not really pigs but, that being said, they, like wild pigs have fairly poor eye site. I think what I called a charge was just a panic reaction when they finally sensed my presence. They just scattered to get away from the danger, the fact that they came close was just bad luck for me. I hate pigs.
