Great rifle!

That Jewel will screw you someday. It did it to me on a big Idaho Moose and then again on a whitetail buck.

Jewell triggers are great but with such tight tolerances can be prone to not working if dust dirt or debris get in them. For hunting it’s bound to happen sooner or later.

That is undecided at this point. The rifle is being built and I should have it within a month to two. Probably 212 ELDX or 208 ELDM for the moose. And possibly 200 grain Swift A frame if a grizzly chance arises.

Curious on reasoning to switch from 7mm to 300 for a grizzly. The 28 nosler with your 180 vld is plenty competent for Grizzlies. I’ve personally killed one and been a part of a couple other kills and all were shot with 7mms shooting 168 vld’s or 180 JLK vld’s. None required a follow up shot and none made it more than 10’. Distances from 100 yards to 460 yards.

Not as much the 7mm verses 308 as it is the handiness of the rifle selected. I Just decided a handier shorter lighter rifle makes more sense on this hunt verses a long tactical style rifle.

Good choice, I think. Light and handy beats a heavy long range banger in the Alaskan bush.
