Proof Elevation 2.0, Used Clymr, Other?

Unless you could get good money for that stock on a sale I’d say no.
Have you ever actually handled one of their stocks?? They do look a bit funky in pictures but when you handle them they are similar to any more traditional based stock. I've always been a big fan of the McMillan Classic Edge stock, which some love or hate because of the drop in them. The Proof to me is an improved Classic (y)

I have experience with the MTR’s. I currently own 3 of them. I have a 25 Creedmoor, a 6 ARC, a 6.5 PRC and a Conviction 223. I love the ergonomics of the stocks. But I also understand each person has their own likes & dislikes. I also have an Elevation in 6.5 Creedmoor. It’s also a very comfortable and accurate rifle, but I do prefer the MTR stock.

The rifles are all amazingly accurate. Most loads are sub MOA, but the loads the rifles like are way sub MOA.

Have you got behind either one? I’d want to feel them myself. $2600 for an Elevation is a smoking price. If you liked how it felt, it would be a heck of a nice rig!

Also, Area419 makes a full length arca rail for the bottom of the stock if you want something like that. You have to get the rail from Proof, but they are available.
I have help an Elevation once in store for a few seconds, but it was a little bit ago and I wasn't looking for a new rifle at the time so I didn't think about how it felt as much as I should have. I mostly just remember liking the balance of the rifle and loving how the origin action felt. Based upon how the stocks look I think that I'd prefer the MTR stock as well, but I personally would before and internal magazine instead of a DBM. And good to know about that rail!

It is easy enough to switch out the Hawkins bottom metal on the MTR to a M5 oberndorf.

Screw out. Screw in. Just make sure you get the right wyatts box and follower for your cartridge.

You could probably sell the M5 bottom metal on here and recoup some of your cost to switch.

Ok sweet! Do you have any experience with the MTR?

Yeah I have an elevation MTR in 300PRC. In my opinion it is one of the very best factory offerings available. It is very much a “custom” rifle at substantially less cost. Great build components.

The price was really good on them about 5-6 years ago when I purchased mine, they were under $2900. I do like though that the newer elevation MTR 2.0 has barrels are shorter and more optimized for suppressor use.

The stock on the MTR is very good, I happen to like it a lot, second only to the Manners EH1.

I’d like to swap my bottom metal over to Hawkins hunter with flush mags, but I really can’t justify the price involved, and with the cost of the Hawkins mags I’ll just survive with it as is and Accurate mags. Plus, and others may chime in differently, it’s my understanding that the potential exists to have to modify the action somewhat to allow proper feeding if making that bottom metal swap to Hawkins hunter.

I did that exact thing on my 22CM. Swapped to Hawkins Hunter for a while. No issues.
