I was given a pronghorn fast flight a few years ago, and have thought about selling it. It’s a 48@28, what would this sell for in todays market? I know nothing about these bows.

Used bows are tough. Condition matters and if you find someone looking for a pronghorn or who is a pronghorn collector it will sell fast. If you don't find that person it may take a minute.

Pronghorn bows had a good following in Nevada a few years back but it's been a little while since I've seen anyone shooting one.

I think it’s basically brand new. A guy bought it for his wife and I don’t believe she ever did anything with it. That guy gave it to my dad a few years ago and my dad gave it to me. I have shot it maybe 3 times

Post up a pic. Maybe somebody will make you an offer? Or post it over on the classifieds.

Used bows are tough.

So many people think these used bows are worth big bucks- they aren't. A pronghorn is nothing special.

Typically they are worth 50% of new...or probably less. Lots of used 3 piece bows selling for $300-$400.

Then factor in it will cost you a lot to ship a one piece bow....about $30-$35 for a 3 piece with insurance.

RMSG has 3 on their site right now for $550-650.
Herb makes a great bow and it is worth more than $300 imo.

I'd offer it up here as stated or another archery site and see what interest you get.

Supply and demand.
Supply can be limited if bowyer is dead or has long wait time. (Chad Holm)
An exception might be Black Widow bows. They always seem to get premium prices due to owner loyalty not necessarily premium performance although they are a dependable now.

Shipping is a pricing problem. I wouldn't pack and ship and then worry about damage for $300. I'd just keep it until a local offer presented itself.

A nice pronghorn is worth more than $300 unless it's 70# and left handed.

I’m not looking to strike it rich. Was just cleaning my outdoor room and saw it, honestly forget I even had it. I have other activities I could use a little extra money on

Ha, not at all. First of all what are the odds it's a Lefty? Grin

I've bought a few customs off the classifieds. What they are asking...and what they get are 2 different stories. I'm, not slighting that Brand, I've heard it's a good bow.

But now with so many good ILF bows that can be had cheap, it kills the value of these customs in the aftermarket. I see folks all the time coming on these boards after finding some relic in their families closet and thinking they struck it rich- nope.

I’ve seen them 375-450 at the most shipped. Berndare is right though, it seems most used bows go for 50% of new. There are a few makes that stick out that are more desirable

Considering I paid $0 and it has been collecting dust, $375 would be a good profit

I had RMS Gear sell a Pronghorn for me. It sold quick.

I dealt with Tom Clum. He supported whatever I wanted - maximize price and wait longer, or lower price for quick sale. You choose the price.

I am 100% satisfied dealing with RMSGear.

Yeah, I worded that wrong...of course they are consignment.

4_th point would know better but my bet is Tom makes more than a few bucks off the sale of those bows- he has to to stay in business.

All anyone has to do is look in the classifieds to see all of the guys asking too much for these bows and they sit on there for a long time- heck there is a Stalker now thats been on there for 2 years.

I've bought 4 bows off of classifieds in the last 4-5 years and I didn't pay anything close to what they were asking.

^^^^Truth. When I sell a bow (or anything) I expect it to be gone in 3-4 days max. I don't want to fool around with Lookie Loos who ask questions for a week wanting to negotiate below a fair price and then complain when you sell it to a serious buyer.

Yeah, it's a little different with Lefty stuff as it sits a little longer....but if you have something in the classifieds and it just sits, it's priced too high.

my bet is that very few items actually sell for what the guy is asking in my transactions both selling and buying....just the way it is. Some guys get upset and call it lowballing....but thats usually what you get when you buy an expensive item- huge loss of value used.

The rare exceptions for me has been high quality Binoculars and some firearms. I ran the Leica Geovids for about 7 years and sold them for exactly what I paid- can't beat that. Bows aren't like that.
