As has been said on here by others, buy what fits you best and that is in your budget. If it is the Elite, get it, if its the Prime, get that one. If it happens to be some other brand, then buy that one. A bow that you are not comfortable shooting is a bow that you will not enjoy shooting.

I shoot the prime rival, absolutely love it. A perk that prime has over the rest of the companies is that they send you replacement strings and cables every other year. No other company does that, that I'm aware of.

I ended up going with the Prime Rize. I shot a bunch of bows at 2 different shops and had it nailed down to the Elite Impulse 34 and the Prime Rize. It was close, but the Rize felt great from the draw, back wall, and through the shot.

After looking at all the camo patterns and thinking I wanted optifade open country, I ordered a solid black one which will be in tomorrow. Cant wait.

I also added these goodies...I hope I made some good choices....

Prime Sherpa 1 pc Quiver
Easton Axis-N-Fused 340 arrows
Hamskea Hybrid Hunter Pro Micro Tune rest
CBE Sniper Pro 3 pin sight
Hoyt Pro Series 8" stabilizer
Scott Mongoose release

I shot all of those, I know everyone is different, but I bet you'll like the Prime and Impulse the best. Halon 6 and E35 weren't bad at all, and I know people love them. It was just really clear that the Rize and impulse were better for me.

I also shot the Prime Rival, after 6-8 shots, I put it down and knew the Rize had it whipped.

Interesting.... I heard the draw cycle on the Energy was better than the Impulse. I have shot a energy 32 and fell in love with the valley and wall, draw cycle was felt good, but without going back to back shooting hard to compate. Lucky for me the archery shop I normally go to carries Elite, Prime, Mathews, Hoyt, PSE, Bowtech and Strothers...

I took my E35 to a shop. Back to back w impulse my bow felt better. Great draw, nice valley right where I like it. Back wall felt the same.

Is the Impulse lighter? Mine is heavy.

Barely... .1lb lighter... So Impulse 31 is 4.2lbs and Energy 32 is 4.3lbs... Impulse 34 is 4.4lbs and Energy 35 is 4.5lbs.

The impulse felt faster to me and a little more explosive, if that make sense. They both felt great to draw, but for me, the impulse 34 was a step above the E35. Again, I know lots of people love this bow, and it was one I thought I might walk out with, but the impulse won...well, the Prime Rize really was the winner.

She's sweet! I have her dialed in at 20 yards now and I'm hammering the bullseye with every shot. I have it set to the factory middle let off setting, which is around 75%, and 65 # draw, it's a shooting machine.

I got a Prime Alloy a few years ago. Shot a lot of bows and this one felt the best. I had not upgraded in 12 years. The prime does not move after the shot. I had some video the release and the bow does not move at all it's so smooth to shoot. This bow tuned so easy I realy like it.

Having said that though as others gave said shoot as many bows you can get your hands on. Stand close draw aim close your eyes and release and stand there for a second or two after the shot and think about how it felt. The bow should pick you they are all good bows now says so go with the bow that feels the best.

Shot everything and went with Elite because I could hold at full draw all day. This not only improves my accuracy but works in those ever-so-iffy elk encounters. I couldn't hold my Hoyt CE for over 2 minutes.

Last weekend went to the local shop, shot a ton of bows.. Hoyt Carbon Defiant Turbo, Prime Rize, Mathews Halon 6, Energy Impulse 31, Synergy and Energy 35. Just sold my Mathews Z7 and bought a used Elite Synergy. Wow, that bow is insane, not the fastest thing in the world but the draw, wall and valley. Could serisouly hold this at full draw all day long and not get the least bit tired. Not to mention able to pull more weight because of the draw and let off then most other bows....

Did you buy the used bow from your dealer after shooting theirs? Or was it from a private party?
