Moved out to the country this summer and have seen this buck a few times in velvet and now once in hard horn. And then there was the mystery critter.....

I have highlanders...that is a highland cow.

Darn things are cute as a button. Funny they have not come around yet during the day but that is a pretty big pasture back there. Are they relatively quiet as cattle go? Never hear them either. I was thinking maybe Yak, but highland cow it was.

They are quiet....very easy keepers. Mine let out with a mooo every so often, but it is rare compared to angus or herefords that dominate the landscape here.

And highlands are like goats, they eat about anything and they are equipped for all but the hottest weather. Pretty cool anilmals.
