@CMP70306 is the real mvp here giving logical explanations that everyone misread about peak chamber pressures, powder specific, and the relationship to the pressure signs.

Back off the charge until you get back to that velocity and I bet you're good to go. This is why I always do my load dev with the can I will use on the rifle. It's almost like getting a good load in the first 50rds and then watching it fall apart as the barrel continues to speed up.

Like a dummy I forgot to weigh the can before cleaning, but a lot of gunk came out. I alternated over 48 hours between CLR and Wipe Out. It was getting to where chunks of carbon were coming loose in my can if I just tapped it.

Interesting! My only can (so far) is a Saker 556 that bounces around between 3 different ARs. I spoke to a silencerco rep a few years ago regarding cleaning the suppressor. His response was something along the lines of "Uhh yeah, I guess you can clean it if you want? I don't know. You probably don't have to. You can though."

This is the first time I've heard of or considered a carbon fouled suppressor causing pressure signs on the brass. I might give my Saker a little bath. I don't see how it would hurt anything, and I will be having my .223 Tikka Varmint threaded this spring to host the same can.

I too am curious to see if you had any improvement with pressure issues after cleaning.

Yes I shot today and significant improvement after cleaning the can. Mind you, I had several thousand rounds on it without cleaning. Chunks of carbon coming loose in the can and restricted gas flow create back pressure.

Thanks for reporting back. I think I'll give my Saker a good cleaning before running it on the Tikka based on your experience.
