WTS PREORDER sale 6 cm Tikka prefits

Can anyone explain why I would rather go for 6ARC vs 6GT?
besides factory ammo which I don't care about but I believe Hornady is even loading 6GT with 109ELDMs.

Looks like the 6GT is getting nearly identical performance to the ARC (34ish grains of Varget 10xg bullets ~2900fps) but keep the standard boltface? As I seem to grasp the whole purpose of the ARC is to fit these specs into an AR-15 and thus needing to get into the special boltface?

And GT should also feed with normal mags and avoid common feeding issues that can get into with the smaller, super light target 6's like BR or Dashers.

I wouldn't call 150-200 FPS difference identical performance. GT is a fair bit bigger case. To me the enticing thing about an ARC is that smaller cases generally are less finicky, have greater barrel life, wont heat up barrels/suppressors as fast, less recoil and easier to spot impacts, dont foul as much. My main concern with an ARC would be mag feeding. If not planning to shoot a bunch of factory, the BR/BRA/Dasher are more appealing to me.

PM or text me what you want, I will put you down and send you a link to pay.

Sorry, the site is what we get… not much control.

I am already planing on sending an action or two to have the bolt faces opened to be ready when the barrels get here.

I will put up the link when ready.
Sent you a PM/email to get an invoice if you have any RH stainless actions available.

got a 22 arc in stock. Those don’t sell like Tikka, though I love em.

What specs on the Howa Mini? I can maybe order some.
I just got the rifle and plan to shoot it this weekend. It has an upgraded stock and bottom metal and some other things. It has the 22" sporter barrel I plan to cut to 17". If its not a shooter I would like a little heavier barrel around the same length.

Thank you for correcting me, as I was way off! Hodgdon data was showing a difference of 8 grains Varget and nearly 400fps! I do have an affinity for Varget and it was the only temp stable powder listed for the ARC and 107g bullet.

Not sure where I got that notion they were nearly the same capacity and velocity from but clearly it was out of whack. I looked around at some other published data and see the significant differences in powder and velocity between ARC and GT. ARC is definitely much closer to the BR and the Dasher landing in between slightly larger than BR and smaller than GT.

I'm still liking the look of the GT somewhat splitting the difference between the ARC/BR and the .243/6CM. But if you're after the softest shooting, least powder burning then ARC or BR defintely your huckleberry. I'm concerned over the magfeeding too though and that pretty much sways me towards the GT.
cheers

The ARC is smaller than a 6 BR. 6 ARC h20 capacity is around 34 grains and BR around 38 IIRC. For comparison, 223 is around 30 grains. ARC is a little guy.

Unless you're going to convert to AICS or buy waters BR/Dasher mags, I'd go GT.

The hodgdon ARC data is limited to 52,XXX PSI for AR loads. Look at the hornady bolt gun data above with pressures in line with GT for an apples to apples comparison. 8028 XBR and h4895 are temp stable powders that are a better match than varget for the ARC IMO.

That basically tips the scales for me. the boltface on the ARC is a big turnoff, and the magfeeding issues with the BR/Dasher. Neither of those to deal with for the GT. That 2750-2900fps range gives me warm fuzzies in the field too. and I mean a guy doesn't HAVE to max load a case...Hodgdon starting load for a 108 (Varget still) is 29.8g @2646. Not as efficient as the ARC/BR at getting there but still ought to shoot like a pussycat with standard bolt and mags.

But no doubt going down to the BR or the ARC is a tick up in efficiency and shootability if your willing to go through an extra hoop or two on the bolt/mags.

Are 2 other guys interested in a 7.5 twist 6cm in 16” ? I’m mainly interested in shooting 95gr NBT’s and TMK’s … or has anyone shot those without issue in a 7 twist ?
