I've been thinking of a 6 ARC Tikka for quite a while. Seems this would be the way to go - do you need a specific amount of people to request it?

Looks like the 6GT is getting awful close performance to the ARC (34ish grains of Varget) but keep the standard boltface and minimize magfeeding issues that can get into with BR or Dashers…

Maybe I am missing it…. What is the material and finish on these barrels? Also, is the free spin-on service only for bare actions, or do you have the ability/option of removing the original barrel from a factory barreled action? Thanks!

They are bead blasted stainless. I will update above.

Yes, I can take the barreled action and remove the barrel.

Crazy good offer here. I am not in the need of a 6mm but what a great offer. I am not sure what a smith charges to unscrew and screw on a new barrel, but I'd imagine no less than 1 hour bench time. I'll be in on your next .223 ordering.

I have no idea how much it costs to bush/bore a bolt face, but I'd bet it makes a dent in the cost of a second barrel at these prices.

Or just load on the light end?

I'm not trying to be critical. I like the idea of a 6arc bolt gun. I'm just on the fence and it's hard to justify, for me.

Money wise - 6cm barrel lasts maybe 2k rds. 6 arc probably on the conservative end 6k - most likely significantly more. Sort of a bushed bolt vs 3 barrels. And my guess is 6arc will go much longer than 6k rds

For those that are interested in 6arc: what is your reason for 6arc over 6 creed?

6 ARC is probably “the” gun if you want to meet some gay “6mm minimum” requirement and still want barrel longevity shooting heavies, minimal recoil for a daily shot gun, etc. Meaning, if you could only have one gun that is your trainer and hunting gun, it’s hard to beat 6 ARC after a 223.

For me .223 fits the bill for heavy use/daily driver while supplementing in faster .224s and 6mms as well. And for hunts where I don’t want to be potentially “held back” by range, those fast 224s and 6 creeds take me out to 800-900.

For those considering a 6 ARC - Kinport rifles will open a 223 bolt face for $100. That’s what I’m going with. Picking up a new T3x 223 for this project.
