Preferred water purification system

I used the Sawyer Squeeze with a QD on my Platypus 3L. Worked good for me this year.

Katadyn , i like how i can just pump straight into my bladder without taking it out of my pack , also like the fitting to pump straight to my Nalgene bottles

I like my katadyn as well and I carry the steripen. The katadyn was free and the steripen eases the mind.

The story on here a few years ago about Aron getting the Beaver Fever and Sh*tting on the wall behind the toilet while throwing up in the tub was rather hilarious to read, but I don't wanna live that over. I trust he enjoyed that enough

Steripen for when I'm on the go. Chlorine dioxide tabs in a platypus for when camp is set up. And I'll boil up a cup of coffee or a MH when at a water source. For some weird reason a hate boiling treated water. Makes me feel like I wasted my time treating it in the first place.

I use a sawyer for clear water, and tabs for dirty water.

It astounds me that so many people rely on a gadget (steripen) that uses batteries to treat their water.
In my opinion tabs are the most reliable method by a long shot.

This doesn't make sense to me??

I can visually confirm a SteriPen is working yet can never really confirm a brand new out of the box filter is working.

^^^ Me too ^^^ I will filter through a bandanna or coffee filter first if from standing water source or cloudy running water.

My two go to options are either a Steripen, or a sawer squeeze. I really like the steripen. If it happens to break I can always boil. The only time I bring the squeeze is when I know the water sources might not be pristine and clear.
