It’s only what you are used to, I used to hate carrying a gun with a vertical grip, but now I don’t notice it, and they’re easier to shoot well.

For those that have shot it, how's muzzle rise when prone?

The rise with the Bastion is the least I have experienced in a factory stock. Mine is on a 7prc and it has a very flat recoil impulse for a factory rifle.

I wasn’t a fan of the bastion recoil pad either, along with the short LOP, but everything else was perfect. It’s not too bad swapping the pad out though with an adapter:
