Anybody familiar with the work that Mark Hostetter does with Precision Firearms?

They make some very good looking ARs, use top quality barrels, and offer great accuracy guarantees. I'm thinking of having him build me an AR with a tactical upper and more of a match accuracy/long range upper.

Any experiences with him and/or his guns? Any other suggestions on a good AR gunsmith?

Thanks!

Mark does quality work. I had him make a 6.5 Grendel for me with a 22" Krieger barrel.

It took a while to complete the build, but I was able to get exactly what I wanted.

With PF matching the upper/lower and barrel, it's a very accurate rifle. I would say it is easily a sub .5 MOA gun.

I tried the PF ammo with TTX Barnes 120 gr and Berger 130 gr and Hornady Black 123 g and SST 123 gr. The Berger 130 gr and Hornady options shoot well for me.

Mark is a good guy and helped me finalize my build, but the the wait was around 9 months...so be prepared.

I had him build me a Bartlein 5R barrel for my 6.5 Grendel a few years ago. Not only is it slower than my Alexander Arms barrel that was 2” shorter, it is finicky on ammo. And when loading Grendel to max loads, it destroys the brass.
