This was built many years ago and has been hunted some so there are handling marks and rubs on the metal and wood. Jeweled bolt and follower, nicely checkered walnut, barrel mounted front swivel. Nice well cared for rifle that shoots well. $1175 to your dealer. Make certain that your ffl will receive a gun from a non FFL, I will include my drivers license for transfer. I can take MC/Visa through Guntab +3%. Money order or cashiers check okay. Lots of pics available.

Whew, that's a beaut, and underpriced as well! Try 24HourCampfire if it doesn't sell quickly here.

Thanks and I’ll look up 24 hr campfire, I’ve never visited that site. The $1175 is a purchase price as I consider the trade value to be more.

Oops forgot the chambering, 30-06. I’ve only lived in Riverton a year or so. Over the past 30+ years we’ve lived in Casper, Rawlins, Laramie, Newcastle, and Rock River

I have more than my fair share of pre 64 70’s and generally prefer them as original, but when tastefully done they become even more special. I agree with a couple other commenters that your price is low. I’ve built custom 70’s myself and can attest to the cost of good wood, fitting, finishing, checkering, etc. you’re selling the stock work and giving away the barreled action. GLWS. If I didn’t have 5 in ‘06 already I’d be on it. I’d love to have the stock on one of mine. Great looking rifle.

I tend to price things based on what it cost me back at the time I bought it, not what it will currently bring. So, I guess it is a low price. I’m getting older and just don’t enjoy elk or deer hunting as I once did.

Sweet rifle. Who did the work (stick ) if you don’t mind my asking? I’ve done several very similar. I haven’t used that particular checkering pattern on any of mine ( I do all my own stock and metal work) , but like that pattern. I’ve got several stock blanks and may start another one soon and may try that pattern at 22 lpi. Thanks. Glad it was a quick sell and hope the buyer appreciates all the detail work that went into it’s construction. Thanks to the buyer too for knowing good work when he see it. All the best.

Yes, I probably should have kept it but I’m getting on in years and prefer to spend the autumn fly fishing and a little bird hunting. There is a name stamped on the interior of the stock, back on the flat between the trigger and box magazine. I haven’t had it apart in awhile but I recall it was maybe, “r Harley,” or hollie?
