wyo-gasman,
This looks like a classic and not a featherweight to me. If the metal butt plate has been replaced with a recoil pad the value may be decreased slightly. My opinion is based on a visit to the largest gun show I have ever heard of in Tulsa,Ok back in 2013. I found venders that specified in Pre-64 Model 70's with prices from $950 -$1800. Some of the lower priced rifles were in very poor condition. The sellers may have built in some "wiggle room" by listing them at a higher price. Depending on the caliber, I would ask a little more than $1000 for your rifle at a minimum. I'm found of these rifles and maybe I'm a bit bias. Good luck with your choice. LaGriz
