Pray for Charlie Kirk

That’s probably why he wasn’t on my radar - I pretty much ignore anyone that’s not in elected office. I’ve probably seen him in small amounts just don’t remember him.

As you probably know, Gavin Newsome is one of the prominent Democratic politicians that is trying to rebrand himself and the party for success in 2028. As a first move, Newsome brought Kirk onto his platform for a discussion and to find some common ground.

Kirk is the guy that the Democratic Governor of California consulted with for help rebuilding the party and possibly becoming POTUS. A Democrat publicly showed likeness to a 31-year old Kirk in effort to hopefully become the most powerful man in the world.

I don't even agree with Kirk on everything, but to act like he is any kind of an unknown is just wild.

Absolutely disgusting that somebody who most likely purports to be “tolerant” would see this as the appropriate solution to this disagreement in ideologies, there’s no other words for it. Equally as disgusting the perpetrator still isn’t in custody.

Way too close to home for me, literally and figuratively. My brother works less than a half mile from this campus, my other brother was in class on this campus when this happened, I only live and work about 30 minutes away, my masonry company does lots of work on this campus, Charlie and I are the same age, and his son and my son are almost the same age.

Prayers to his wife and kids, I shutter at the thought of my wife and little one being left like this. Will definitely be hugging them both a little tighter tonight.

Celebrating this is so disgusting, what is wrong with people?

Despite what MSM will shout from the rafters, this guy was not a radical or “alt right” character. He argued for free speech, basic 2A, the reality of two genders, and anti abortion. These are the basic views of millions of Americans. The open celebration of his execution on live TV is clear as crystal. They believe that anyone who agrees with these things aught to suffer a similar fate. Many are openly calling for more of the same.

I don’t doubt he’s very popular based on the national uproar and the strong feelings here. Apparently one of our boys enjoys listening to him, but that doesn’t change the fact that many folks like me pay attention to a different segment of the news cycle that he isn’t a part of. I also couldn’t name or recognize any 30 year olds on the far left that travel around to universities or have podcasts - can you? I’ve enjoyed learning more about him. It’s always too bad when a young kid dies too soon.

Recently discovered the Shawn Ryan show and started listening to old episodes. They discuss the idea of how important it is for the US to have a common enemy to be internally united in the Marc Polymeropoulos episode #31. 9/11 was the last real case of that since WWII.

Or…*head scratches* maybe the man genuinely wasn’t aware who he was? A couple friends I have talked to were unaware of who he was. Not all of us follow politics that closely. If I weren’t a truck driver who regularly scrolled through Facebook and YouTube to pass time, I wouldn’t have had a clue who he was- And I’m 25. Incidentally, that’s how I found out of his demise.

I'm glad you've enjoyed learning more about him. Original comment, and perhaps you didn't mean it like this, was akin to rolling down your window at a funeral and yelling "I don't even know who that is!" Time and place.

About as filled with rage as I can ever remember as an adult when I heard the news.

He was killed in cold blood for being a purveyor of truth in a time of universal deceit.

Dig your heels in fellas and continue to uphold what we believe, and pray for Charlie's family.

People think you have to agree with their ideas or your the problem. His death is proof that the people screaming for everyone to be "equal" don't think you should be alive if you dont agree.

All Charlie Kirk wanted was open dialogue without violence. He was brave enough to enter the indoctrination camps of the left, AKA universities, to challenge young people about their beliefs. He was a good Christian man, father, and husband. He was assasinated for that, plain and simple. This nation is on a slippery slope and is under constant attack from a collective of people who preach tolerance, coexistence, diversity, equity, inclusion….. until you think differently and then you are enemy number one. They will stop at nothing to squelch you if you don’t fall in line with the woke agenda. What happened to being able to disagree with someone and not have to worry about a loony toon taking your life???

I envy all of my fellow Roksliders who may be on a hunt or in the backcountry somewhere at the moment and enjoying a place that actually makes sense.

Charlie was not far right. He was a moderate. He was a god fearing man that never said anything aggressive or disrespectful to anyone. I have watched many of his events and appearances. He spoke about his faith often and I admired that devotion and belief. He created a place for young people to feel safe to discuss what they have been taught in our schools. He gave the younger generation a way to be moderate in today’s crazy world. This will have as much impact as any political assassination has in our nation’s history.

I also discovered the Shawn Ryan show and listen to alot of his podcasts. Its pretty crazy some of them. I think they are really good to listen too.
