Did a first dry run in my new PR-49 yesterday. The sling seat sits so low (adjusted as tight as possible) that I had hip pain pretty quick. I have long legs and was pretty uncomfortable in about 30minutes. I am wondering if others have had this issue and have figured out alternatives. I have a small cooler that barely fits b/w the tubes that would put me on a higher plane and the optional floor would lend some protection to the floor if I did this, but this doesn't seem to be the optimal solution. Any help?

You need a back rest(backpack, dry bag, or something similar). That will help with the back pain, if you're really tall it'll be difficult to get super comfortable. The sling seat should sit higher. If the tubes arent fully pressured up it might cause the sag.

Brand new to packrafting too. Had similar sagging until I was told to make sure it is fully inflated. Also very important if placing the raft in cold water to give the air in the raft a few minutes to cool down (tempering) and then add more air to make the tubes tight. After doing this the raft was great. Using a back rest of some sort as mentioned such as a backpack or an inflatable seat with back really does make it more comfortable. I am 6'1 and with proper inflation my thighs were parallel instead of my first go which ended up with my knees up in the air. Going on the Packraft Rondy was a great learning experience.

This sounds like my issue - thighs no where near parallel and knees up in the air. I was pretty sure the tubes were fully inflated, but will try again this weekend. I have a Crazy Creek chair and will give it a try, too. Thanks for the suggestions!

Just wanted to follow up on this thread. I recently finished my moose/bear hunt where we used the PR-49 a bunch and inflating the raft more solved my issues - I bought a gauge and somewhere around 1.75lbs the issues went away. The boat was PERFECT for my scenario and met every challenge we through at it. Thanks to all who responded.
