Powder for LA 300 WSM & Heavy Bullets

Yep. And compared to the 205, the 200.20x has higher BC and quite a bit shorter bearing surface so it will outperform the 205 from a ballistics standpoint. I'm confident enough in the design of the 200.20x to use it for hunting.
I used rl26 with 200.20x in my rifle. Some benchrest guys are running this bullet around 90k off lands with great accuracy. My rifles chambered for 215s so 90k off puts the 200.20x in a good place. 69-69.3, 69.6, 69.9gr ran right at 2955-2976 2 shots each charge over chrono. The two 69.3 were right at 2" apart, target at 580y. Nothing was more than 4" apart on the pair. This is from a 23.5" barrel, norma brass, cci250. Seems fast but I'm getting no bolt lift, click, and easy extraction.

I'm going to pick up a Tikka Roughtech in 300 WSM next week. I have a Manners EHT on hand, and will be mounting a SWFA 12x. Will add a PVA UL Jet Blast, Sportsmatch rings (anyone know where to find them?), Lumley arms bolt handle, HCA magazines and a LA bolt stop.
I've already got 250 primed/prepped Norma brass, and I'm planning to shoot the new 205 Berger Elite Hunter or the 208 ELD M. The 11 twist is stupid, but I'm trying to pinch pennies and save time by sticking with the factory barrel. I should be ok with either of those two bullets at the elevation I live and hunt at.
The goal is to hit 2950 or better in the factory 24" barrel. The top options I'm aware of are: RL26 (hard to find), VVN560 (can get it locally), VVN565 (hard to find), H1000 (on hand), RL16 (on hand), and RL23. My understanding is that VVN560 can be a bit temp sensitive. I think RL16 is on the fast side. Likely won't reach top velocity with H1000.
Any real world input is welcome, I'm itching to start load development as soon as I pick the rifle up!
I am curious, what did you end up loading and using? Or is it still a work in progress? I just bought a tikka super lite 300 wsm and I chose to use RL 16. I have not shot anything bullets over 190 grains with it yet. So far I have done ladder and group tests at 600 yards with 3 different bullets using that powder. I'm not sure if the powder is good or if I got a hump day barrel but I've been able to dial them in and get consistent 4" or less 3 shot groups at 600 yards with Nosler 168 ABLR (best groups), 185 Berger Classic Hunters, and 190 Long Rang Accubonds (lowest ES). I read 300 wsm is inherently an accurate caliber and that seams to be true so far. Tikka makes a sweet rifle for 750$!!!! I hope you've tried to the RL 16 and 205's to save me some time and components. I have notes I am willing to share if anyone else is interested. I also chopped my barrel to 21" and threaded it for a brake or suppresser. Its really fun to shoot with my Harvester.

I ended up using RL23 with 208 ELD M, 2935 fps. Made four kills with the rifle (two bears, mule deer, and coues deer) at 320, 935, 750, and 400 yards. It was an absolute breeze to load for, I had my load with just 20 rounds down the tube. .6 MOA vertical dispersion at 1k. H4350 data is pretty directly interchangeable with RL16, but I think it's a little fast for heavy bullets. RL23 and 26 are the sweet spot.

I was thinking that's what you would have done and it would be better for heavier bullets. But had my fingers crossed. I was just curious because bullets and powder are hard to find. 300 WSM is super versatile so I was hoping to expand my bullets search. I have some RL 22 I could try, see if the velocities are higher with the same bullet. It burns very similar to RL 23 but lacks temp stability. Nosler just makes their bullets in runs so im not sure when ill see more. These are from the 24" barrel. I was able to get bullets going faster but these were my nodes.
RL16 190 ABLR
2950 FPS
RL16 185 Berger Classic Hunter
3004 FPS
RL16 168 ABLR
3051 FPS

Hoping to revive an old topic and glean some info re: 205 EHs and RL16. Anyone have info / data since this thread went quiet?
