Two friends and I recently returned from a week in SE Alaska; 5 straight days of hunting, one salt day, and one river day. After missing a nice forky at 20 yds on day one with the bow, I sealed the deal with the rifle on day 3 after a perfect spot and stalk play getting to 100 yds above a bedded Sitka.
Lot's of work managing wet gear and shelters during a couple of days of relentless rain. The reward was alpine vistas, backcountry camaraderie, and a healthy mix of type 1 and type 2 fun. Not to mention 3 deer, a ptarmigan, 4 halibut, 4 salt coho, and 2 river coho.
I am already missing the rugged green alpine terrain and look forward to the ability to return to the wild of AK. Also my new Exo K3 4800 was
