Post up pics of your pups

Mixed bag of hound breeds. Still dialing in exactly what I like most in a dog but the ones I have are doing a good job of things this season.

Good looking pup, how is he with the little one? Ours doesn’t realize how big he is and kinda tramples my 4 year old son who’s always zipping around the house a hundred miles an hour. He’s super gentle with our 7 month old baby and six year old daughter. He’s best friends with the mailman when he’s outside but for some reason last Friday when he walked to the door he jumped 1/2 way through the window after him. I was holding the baby right next to him and I think he went into protective mode or something. He’s done it with strangers walking up to my wife when she has the baby in the carrier, his hackles stand up and growls. He’s getting fixed in a few weeks.

He is good with the kids. Big and doesn’t realize his size and weight…but generally good! The little one in the picture wrestles and rolls on the ground with him.

I am struggling with some cage aggression right now. When he is in his kennel and someone he doesn’t know comes up, or he hears a new voice…he gets aggressive. Outside if the cage with new dogs and people…hasn’t been an issue. I work at a vet clinic so he comes with me everyday. Try to associate him as many people and animals as possible. He has always been scared of his own shadow…that is getting better though. The cage aggression, is a little better, but still an issue. Anytime it happens i always talk to him, let him out and see that the people he fears, aren’t a threat…

The little-one... the day we brought her home. My wife bought her from a co-worker, so we picked her up at her office, hence the pic on the desk showing the computer mouse for size reference! ;)

I love this little creature. She’s not a hunting dog. She’s an adopted “village dog.“ in Alaska that means that she was literally born in a village, but metaphorically means she’s a mutt with some kind of husky/sled dog mix. She’s my pride and joy.

Here she is wearing one of those funny flapper hats.
Also, this is my favorite thread right now. I love dogs. We don’t deserve them.

This is Leon. He’s a staffordshire terrier. He’s not a hunting dog but he’s my best friend and has a few tricks up his sleeve. I adopted him 9 years ago when he was 3. We just found out he has a super aggressive cancer called Squamous Cell Carcinoma. It’s in his mouth and is growing pretty rapidly as it dissolves the jaw bone it’s attached to. My best option is to keep him comfortable. So he has 2 months left at most.

I've got a husky/shepherd cross and GOD that dog has an amazingly high prey drive. She picked up wild game tracking for deer in about a month! Beautiful dogs too

Sounds like you have an amazing dog too!

Buddy is high energy and his personality is definitely on the Husky side of things. We trained him to take care of our chickens and he does great with them, they trust him completely. He naturally want to hunt mice and rabbits and even grouse so he can tell the difference between them and our hens. We take him fishing and he's pretty good now but at first he would go crazy when we would try to land a fish. With bears he didn't like them but now will approach a downed bear when we are working on them, still hates them though lol.

We got him at 7 weeks old from our local pound, his mother and siblings were a rescue from a local reservation, we have playdates with his mom and a couple of sisters. The mom was less than a year old when she had her pups. All of them are sweet dogs.

My Yellow dog Indy. He likes beer, softball, backpacking, and long walks on the beach.

Does not like basketball season or fireworks.

Sadie, my Llewellin (English) Setter. 22 months.

Here she is at the vet, with her eyes set on the birds outside the window. LOL.

Got her at a time where I haven't been able to train her properly. She's scare of loud noises - since I got her as a pup and I don't know how to introduce her to guns b/c of this. (She hears them around and is bothered by it. She has a motor that will. not. quit. She chases everything but POINTS hard on quail and holds. She chased a flush quail recently, and then came back with it in her mouth. She trotted up to me, dropped it at my feet, and sat down, tongue lolling, like she'd done it all her life.

She's never been trained to do that. Why would she do that if she's never brought me a creature she's caught before? Bird, mouse, whatever. She only brought me that quail.
