Gone.

OP-the text verbiage screams scam. Glad you didn't send money.

Others-STOP using friends and family, unless they actually are!

Scammers frequently use the “item available in my garage collecting dust” for some reason. Huge red flag

Someone here has to be able to nerd out well enough to start tracking IP addresses down right?

You’d just end up at some grandmas home in Iowa or wherever they can spoof their router. Or they’re using a vpn

I received some very similar messages from another user on here that mysteriously seemed to disappear after my interaction with him. No money was exchanged, but a reminder to be careful.

So I went back to my email notifications to find the username of the suspect member. It was pavoda7. I am not able to locate any trace of that user on the site now. Area code of the text was 407 and also super pushy in the communications.

If this is a legit user that has since changed his name, I apologize for the callout, but it certainly seems suspicious to me.

Just realized that the message I received was identical to the one the OP received. Even the phone number was the same.

No, we gave him a ride to the train station

It’s a very common phrase and common area code in the phone number

WTB threads are scam magnets. Do not use them for large ticket items and if you do, be on your toes. They are risky.

He refunded cause I did not friends and family him 😂😂
This could be a new counter terrorism tactic. Spam his PayPal, everyone pay him some random small amount via G&S then request a refund. He will be too busy dealing with them to be scamming.

Or make the payment note for guns/drugs/ect. Hahaha
