I've hunted out of a bunch of these things...with everything from my REI Helinox style chair, 3 legged stool and cheap nylon lawn chair.

I was just on a hunt with a buddy that has a bunch of these blinds/ chairs...and he said, "Don't bring anything, I have it covered"

well he has a bunch of the cheap Sportsman guide Blinds [$79] that are only a little over 5 feet tall by 5 feet wide. No way I could shoot my recurve out of those. I had to brush in a GB with a roll of fabric.

I've hunted out of the bigger blinds and picked one up; the Barronett Big Cat. Its 80" tall. None of these are perfect IMO...but this one is darn good. If a guy was rifle hunting....I doubt it matters so much.

I did seam seal my new Big Cat- a must....and I bring a roll of that bird mesh [black monofilament] from Home Cheap to help brush it in on hunts.

The big revelation for me was the chair I ordered....this chair is by far the best blind chair I've ever used, the Primos Double Bull TriStool

What do you like for these?

I have yet to find a chair I really like. I've never found a three legged stool very comfortable how does the primos do? How long was your typical sit time?

I'm digging the chama chair so far. Expensive as hell, but its pretty light, has good feet that don't dig in, and adjustable length legs and the seat swivels. Its hard to talk yourself into buying one, but I'm kind of glad I did so far because I was really getting tired of not finding a chair that really worked the way I wanted it to.
I'll really know for sure when antelope season comes back around next August when I put in a few all day sits. With any luck somebody will make a knock-off for 1/3 the price in the near future.

Depending on how far you have to walk in depends on the chair I use.

If less that a mile, I pack in those plastic deck chairs. They are a PITA to pack in, but they are really comfortable with good padding and they don't make a sound. If further than a mile, I use a directors camping chair that folds up for easy packing with the all the pins and bars quieted down with wax or silicone.

Things we look for are quiet in the cold (most squeak in the cold), comfortable as we sit 8-10 hours a day and has arm rests (try sitting for 8-10 hours without arm rests!!)

Cheers

Double Bull stool for me. My daughter (adult) has a nice stool that is scaled down in size but otherwise identical to the Primos. I think it says Bone Collector or some other nonsense on it. It's probably made by the same Chinese kids.

I've always had good luck with my Double bull=double wide blind. Lots of room and solidly made. I wouldn't want to haul it far though...it is pretty hefty!

Crummy answer I know but...."It Depends"

If I was hunting AZ water holes right now for the Archery deer season....I would sit all day. During the rut....just as good a chance at noon as at first and last light.

I was in AZ for deer a couple weeks ago and the deer weren't hitting water tanks much due to so much rain they had...and other factors...plus the rut hadn't kicked in yet. So then, it didn't make much sense sitting all day....but for a few hours early and late.

FWIW, I don't think there is a chair made that will keep you comfortable for all day sits...you gotta get up and stretch....but this one in my link is pretty good.

Anyone tried the helinox swivel chair? How’s it sit, height in blind, do feet sink in soft ground?

We have a pair of them. Great blind chair. Little short to shoot out of but super easy to slip forward onto your knees which is my preference anyhow. Legs have a pretty good angle so sinking isn’t really an issue.

Cheap Walmart bag chairs have worked well for me. I recently bought a Millennium chair that packs up fairly decent. It's very comfortable and swivels.

I have a similar chair. From REI. It’s good. Not great. The small feet will push into then soft ground during my spring turkey hunt.

My double bull blind is going on 10 yeast I think. Still solid. Had to sew up a few arrow holes tho. User error.

I’ve always just used cheap fold up chairs from Walmart. I like the smaller ones they have, they seem to be about the proper height. I also prefer to slip out of the chair for the shot though
