I joined Rokslide finally (after lurking for years) because it seems like one of last forums that is civil. Silly opinions (about hunting or gear) are corrected immediately, and most conversations seem well thought out and worth the time to read. I appreciate your efforts to keep it honest and politic free (as much as you can).

This quote from above is perfect:

Not sure what's worse-
The majority patting themselves on the back for being so smart with thier choices
OR
The minority yelling about everyone being an idiot for thier choices.

Either way it has gotten really old reading about on every thread and needs to stop.

There are plenty of differing opinions here but the majority of us understand the rules so you don't have to read the back and forth.

I don't blame the moderators but I do believe that is the biggest problem this country faces right now. Adults have lost their ability to listen to each other when they encounter someone who thinks differently. It's sad.

1000% people need to quit getting their panties in a twist when somebody has a different opinion. Diversity of thought is healthy when we respect each other.

I haven’t seen any recent threads started about off topic politics but it is getting brought into some threads. Mostly in conservation topics. Those are political and hunting related but when it gets into snarky bickering and vulgar language we consider moderation.

Conservation and gun control are a difficult needle to thread without getting too political - we've got to be able to discuss the realities of which entities are pushing what, how that works, and why it may be considered a threat to what we enjoy here as hunters, while also not getting into emotional mud slinging.

Yes that’s a more detailed explanation of what is allowed. Those threads usually are left alone barring a personal attack, using the thread as an opportunity to make a general statement instead of being on topic. In those cases we moderate specific comments or members rather than nuking whole thing. Probably the most tedious part of the job but preserving the topic is important.
