yeah, i'm not sure yet if all this new technology has been good or bad for us yet. not talking specifically bout packs, but just in general.

Call me stupid, gullible, or a nancy.. but I will tell you this. My back and shoulders call me "The smartest guy around" after walking with 72 pounds in my back for 3 days exercising. 2.2, 2.2, and 3.5 miles It hurt carrying 50 in my other pack.

We all know that gear is no replacement for knowledge and determination and grit. As for me, I will take my DT1. I carried an ALICE pack for 4 years in The Suck and they, and all other poorly designed gear, wreck your carcass. It hurts me to even look at the screen on my computer because my back is fuct.

I think I saw a website selling an ultralight pack that looked just like that guys for $600...

I wasn't a fan of the old long hunter pack and couldn't find anything I liked about 5 years ago so I had Dan McHale build me one to my specs. Today I would probably be happy with a timberline and would have about a grand more in the bank!!!

I figure I'm to busy working my cushy IT job to build up the work-hardened shoulders that got those old timers into the woods. At least it pays well enough I can afford a cushier pack and a bunch of light weight gear to allow my soft shoulders to get me through.
