Someone by the handle Jan Rezac was making 3D printed ultralight handles for the Silky Pocketboy 170 saw that saved about 8 oz.

I found some old threads on here and Backpacking Light, but hoping someone has a direct contact. I emailed the person but I'm not a member of Backpacking Light to send a PM. Below is a link to what (and who) I'm talking about.

P.s. I suppose this is better fit for DIY Gear Modifications, but think it will be visible to more folks in this category.

Thanks that's the address I emailed the other day. Hopefully it's still valid and they just haven't gotten around to checking it yet. I can't find any recent activity on the handle so it might not be a thing anymore.
I used it about a year ago and didn’t have any issues, but no more recent experience.

Are you in the US? I just realized Jan is in the Czech Republic. When I typed the email I was thinking Canada for some reason. Guess I overlooked '.cz'

I’ve had one for a while now and skull caped a lot of deer and one bull elk with it. Works great and cuts down on a lot of weight and bulk

Awesome. I'll update this thread when/if he gets back to me. It is an amazing thing and cutting a half pound off a single item is no joke!

I'm surprised there's nobody out there who is more 'mainstream' making something similar for those blades. I can't find anything remotely close.

I’m in the US as well and got one from him a year or two ago. It’s awesome, highly recommend if he is still doing them.
