Pocket attachment and K clip on kifaru?

Hey everyone, I am thinking about buying a woodsman and setting it up differently than it comes from the factory. My thought was to put the straps to the attachment points for the pockets so the straps don’t go fully around the bag but I am wondering if that would make you unable to attach a pocket in that position from then on. Does anyone know if you can put a k clip and a three bar slider on the same attachment point? I love the design of the Exo bags but I love my kifaru 22” frame. So my thoughts were if I could do that, I could have rugged stitching put a side zipper on it and then attach a Sherman pocket to the daisy chain and use straps from the top of it to attach to the snow collar. That seems in my mind like it would give a similar design to the Exo but with a 22” frame to fit me the best.

I think you could but then you may run into issues if you used the straps for compression. Just be careful to not have the 3 bar sliders trapped behind the k-clips, could damage the bag if you put a lot of stress on them and then hike with them rubbing the bag.

Yeah that was my thought. I could also just put pockets on the hip belt and skip them on the bag and just get a native or guide lid for extra space if I want to go longer on a backpacking trip

I've been running the Sherman on my Woodsman like is pictured on a 14'r (Kifaru site). The top straps of the Sherman go to the sides of the frame. I don't run a center strap of the Woodsman in this set up, The Sherman quickly unbuckles and flips down for access to the Woodsman zipper. Leaves sides and lid available for additional pockets, or a guide lid. I'm not familiar with Exo except most like the layout. Hope this makes sense!

Yeah that makes sense, do you have a picture with how you’re setting up the other compression straps since you’re not going all the way across

I run two straps across rather than three. The lower horizontal pictured could drop down lower if needed and its still just one more click to get full zipper access. Medium belt pouches low on sides normally, maybe one on lid.

I see what your saying. I think you could... I would put the slider in first and then the buckle. I can try it later today and post pics.

I believe this is what you're trying to do (minus the added zipper), it seems like it would work fine other than maybe being awkward to adjust the compression straps when things are fully stuffed.

Read my mind! I like that! My thought was to run the compression straps at an angle from the top of the pocket to the frame tab above that to get the load sucked upward and in and I think that may eliminate the difficulty of adjusting the straps.

However my thought was to put compression straps on the top of the Sherman to the lot instead of them coming off the daisy chain. But now seeing how tall the Sherman is it may be difficult to get compression out of the lid when it’s so high up there
