Pistol Red Dot Durability

Have acros at work. On my personal it’s a holosun, bc I couldn’t afford the acro at the time. I got tired of the emitter getting dust and debris on it so I just took it off.

If I taking a pistol outdoors in the brush, it’s closed emitter all the way and acro would be my choice.

I have a RMR that’s been mounted on the same gun since 2015. It has never lost zero but does flicker. The shoe goo trick helped some. That gun has probably 5k min at the range and gets carried and tossed around quite a bit in the woods.

Recently got a Holosun EPS carry for a different gun. Probably has 1k on in since mounted. Has maintained zero so far and is a joy to shoot with. Would get another one in a second.

All that being said, interested in a COA or other larger enclosed to replace RMR maybe

I will say my holosun 507k has taken a beating. I have it on a 9mm pcc now and it’s rides In the rack of the atv quite a bit and I’ve even driven over the pcc a time or two and it just runs and the holosun stays zeroed. Moving forward I won’t buy holosun for personal reasons, but functionally it hasn’t let me down.

shoe goo trick?

Anybody out there speak to the Seiner MPS? MPSc is on the market now and intriguing.

For full size/AR use I don't think I would be swayed from the RCR at this point.

Place a dab of shoe good on the back the battery and then torque it down to the slide. Helps with some RMRs flickering while under recoil. Essentially bedding the battery to take any wiggle room away. It did make a difference for me going on ten years now. I believe this issue has be dealt with on the newer versions.

I have a couple of the Steiners and have liked them although I haven't done nearly the testing some people here do. But it does seem like from what I've heard from those that do is they do well.
