Always great to see a wall tent with the natural poles!
Only way to go when packing in. We cut them green, and they last forever. Except if the FS finds them. They like to burn them so we have to cut more. Only happened once in 12 years.

She had no choice. She had to carry this coues deer out of the mountains. I’ve used her also on backcountry deer hunts.

One of my favorite yet bittersweet memories. The lone packhorse was 24 at the time and babysat me through a lot of moments of stupidity! Poor old boy was getting pretty stiff and miserable, and sadly didn’t make it through the winter. This photo was his last trip coming out of the high country.

I know it’s Not packing, but there is nothing more fun than moving cows on a good horse! This little mare of mine can make anyone look good!
