I’ve never looked through a 1x but may go that route for the muzzleloader.

Can anyone post up what a 1x scope reticle looks like on a deer at distance between 100-200 yards?

no magnification, I wouldn't do it. I would want at least 2x to 3x minimum. I handgun hunt a lot so am quite familiar with your intent.

State rules on muzzy hunts are 1x or peep/iron sights. If I don’t scope 1x scope/prism route I’ll likely go Williams peep sight route

I put an old eotech i had sitting around on my muzzy. If you dont get magnification I would use a red dot over a scope

I dont have a deer handy, so this is best I can do in a pinch. Trijicon accupoint 1-6 at 1x magnification. The tree in the crosshair is at 75 yards, and has a 15” diameter trunk. Crosshairs are sitting about 4’ off the ground.
Personally, I can still be more accurate at 1X with the scope then I can with a peep, but other people’s eyes may be different.

Can a magnifyer be added? Btw, I have no idea about muzzle loaders.

I have room on the rail that I could. I dont really intend to though. Dont really worry about magnification within effective range of a ML. I shoot red dot type sights to 200 yards pretty regularly though at 6 inch steel.

A 1x scope would be much more useful in low light. I use the Williams on my muzzy and it’s not great after the sun goes down. The thin crosshair 2’ from your eye starts to blend into the dark background really bad. I’d switch to a fixed 1x or 1-2moa red dot in a heartbeat if it was legal in CO.

You will get some replies that a red dot is preferred over a 1x scope. I prefer a 1x scope, specifically for sighting in the muzzleloader. Aligning the cross hairs on the scope with crosshairs on targets at all distances makes me more confident that any adjustments made to the scope are accurate. (Just align the 1x scope crosshairs with the target crosshairs).

Also, when I used a 1x scope on my muzzleloader, I left the front sight mounted onto the barrel. I aligned the front sight with the vertical crosshair on the scope to make sure my head was in a consistent position while shooting. Below is a screen capture of an image, showing the front post on the barrel, and the crosshairs aligned with the target. Using this approach I was much more consistent and accurate than a red dot.

I have a 1X sighttron that I have used in UT on my Muzzy. A true 1X will have a tunnel effect but for me still more accurate at distance than a red dot or peep. I did look at several different brands before I found one I liked best. I can easily get 3”-4" groups at 200 yards wiith my White Systems Whitetail .45 cal
