I think the folks on here will like this one. Based off the victorinox boning knife blade shape that is generally loved and accepted. Its downfall though is its soft steel and atrocious handle. This one is .079” 14c28n at 63 hrc

I guess you do the half tang to save weight? The steel looks pretty thin too, so I imagine all those factors add up to more weight savings. Are all the handles micarta? Terotuf might save a fraction more weight off the handle.

Yep exactly, thin stock and thin grinds. Geometry cuts and is the number factor in edge retention over everything: steel, heat treat, etc. terotuf is a tad lighter but some find it gets too grimy
